21 yr old female considering moving to Nashville..
I'm ready for a change of scenery. Ready for some new faces and new opportunities. Been a singer my whole life. Was raised on country music. Nashville just feels like a place I would fall in love with. And that's what I'm looking for.
Would love to move asap but probably should be smart & save up some money first, eh? Anyways, what can you tell me about living life in Nashville? Is it easy to make friends? How's the driving? What's the employment rate? Tell me everything I need to know before I relocate! Any advice is welcome. Please & thank you

Nashville is great. I've lived here for about 25 years and love it. You have the things to do in a big city but then you also have a lot to do outside of the city. Nashville is big but nothing like a Chicago or NY. The nice part is is that from most of the cities/towns outside of Nashville, it is maybe a 20 minute drive to downtown but then you can also drive 30 minutes away from Nashville in any direction and be in the country. We have the typical things of a big city: professional football and hockey, great concert venues (we are Music City afterall), great nightlife and great places to eat. We also have a lot of history here with museums and other historical locations in and around Nashville. Nashville is also centrally located and you can make it east to Knoxville and Gatlinburg in 3 hours or go West and make it to Memphis in 4.
As for driving, I would say it's like any other city but it's not bed. Depending on where you come from into Nashville in the morning and leaving after work, it can be a nightmare but overall it's typical rush hour traffic.
Also, as with any city there are places you want to stay away from. If you do relocated, you can ask and get an idea of the safer areas and the ones to stay away from.
As for the nightlife here (if you like going out), we have some great places. Everything from the newest bars that are more trendy and hip to the hole-in-the-wall country dives where you can sometimes catch some country music singers hanging out or singing a few songs with the house band. As mentioned earlier, we have great concert venues with many top singers/performers playing. Name anybody and they have probably played a concert here in Nashville.
I'm not sure about the unemployment (you can probably google it) here in the city but from what I can tell, it's done better than most cities. The house market isn't as bad as some other places and being 21, you could probably find a job pretty easy. For example, the company I work for has grown by about 400-500 in 3 years.
I would say it is pretty easy to make friends here. For the most part everybody is friendly but just like every place, you're going to have people that are not that friendly.
If you have any other questions, let me know how I can help.

I wanna move there too
i am a 22 year old female, with similar reasons for wanting to relocate to nashville. I love music, grew up on country, and am a singer, too.
i want the big city life with a southern flare, & less expensive living then say new york or chicago. I can't think of a better time to start my life elsewhere than now, I have no major attachments to my hometown, and definitely need a change of scenery. I have a feeling I would fall in love with Nashville, too, and hope to have an amazing experience there. I am definitely looking for a roommate, so maybe we can swap emails or something or information. Promise im not a crazy or creeper, just a girl looking for a change. Haha. Hope to hear from somebody.

I am considering moving to Nashville for a change as well.
I'm really interested in becoming a music producer.
I'd share a room with someone, I'd just like to get to know them first!

Relocating in summer
I too am looking to relocate. I am a 25 year old female moving down with my boyfriend. We started our own event planning business and are looking to finally find a place to settle with it. At least for a while. We are moving from Chicago. Is Nashville full of people who relocate in their 20s? We definitely want to be able to meet friends there! Is it a good place for business too?

Relocating to Nashville
I am 24 years old looking to relocate to Nashville and actually looking for a job in Event Planning. I am having a really hard time finding a job here in Southern California and I am hoping Nashville will provide some new opportunities. I was wondering if anyone knew what reasonable rent is for a 1 bedroom 5-10 minutes from downtown?? I am trying to get a feel for the amount of money I need to save before I move. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Rents in or very close to Nashville
Rent in a decent area in Nashville will cost you $800 - $1000 a month. If this is too much, then you would need to move farther out from the city then just 5-10 minutes away. I know you'd want to be close to town, but be prepared to pay much more.
