Ty Myers is wasting no time building on a breakout year. Today, the 18-year-old phenom announced his second studio album, Heavy On The Soul, set for release March 27 via RECORDS Nashville/Columbia. The new project follows his widely praised, GOLD-certified 2025 debut The Select.
An ambitious next chapter in Myers’ rapid rise, Heavy On The Soul sharpens his emotionally driven songwriting while expanding his sonic reach. The album was recorded at the storied FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama—a fitting backdrop given Myers’ admiration for legends like Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding. Displaying maturity well beyond his age, the Texas-born singer-songwriter and guitarist wrote 11 of the album’s 17 tracks entirely on his own, delivering songs that balance refined craft with unfiltered honesty. Returning producer Brandon Hood once again helms the project, joined by an elite group of session musicians including guitarist Tom Bukovac and steel guitar standout Bruce Bouton.
Fans won’t have to wait long for another preview. This Friday, Myers will release “Message to You,” a solo-written track that offers another glimpse into the album’s emotional core. The new single follows previously released cuts like “Leaving Carolina,” “Through a Screen,” “Come On Over, Baby,” and “Two Trains (feat. Marcus King),” each highlighting a different facet of Myers’ range—from cinematic country storytelling to blues-soaked guitar work.
The album announcement comes on the heels of Myers’ late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he performed “Thought It Was Love.” Backstage, he was presented with RIAA plaques recognizing The Select’s GOLD status and the PLATINUM certification of the song—marking a celebratory close to one chapter as he confidently steps into the next with Heavy On The Soul.
