The Country Music Association gathered inside the historic Rotunda at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum today to announce the 2026 inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame, honoring Paul Overstreet, The Stanley Brothers and Tim McGraw.
Overstreet will be inducted in the Songwriter category, which rotates every third year with the Non-Performer and Recording and/or Touring Musician categories. The Stanley Brothers—Ralph and Carter—will enter under the Veterans Era Artist category, while McGraw will be recognized in the Modern Era Artist category.
Country Music Hall of Fame member Marty Stuart hosted the announcement, which was also streamed live via CMA’s digital platforms.
This year’s class represents three distinct paths that have each helped shape the sound and legacy of country music. Overstreet’s songwriting catalog includes some of the genre’s most enduring hits, while also carving out a successful recording career of his own. The Stanley Brothers remain foundational figures in bluegrass, their unmistakable mountain sound influencing generations of artists across multiple genres. McGraw, a Louisiana native, has built one of the most consistent and impactful careers in modern country, with more than 60 Top 10 hits, nearly 30 No. 1 singles and a successful run in film and television.
The announcement marked another milestone moment for the genre, celebrating artists whose work continues to resonate across decades. With their official induction, Overstreet, The Stanley Brothers and McGraw will take their place among country music’s most legendary figures, permanently enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
