After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, Shueh-li Ong, *Nashville’s Queen of the theremin is ready to take the stage once again. This highly anticipated event will take place on Saturday June 3rd at the Nashville Steinway Piano Gallery.

The concert will feature Ong’s unique interpretation of classic songs and her own original compositions. Fans of electronic music, jazz fusion, prog rock, and synth pop are sure to look forward to an afternoon of innovative and genre-defying music.

Ong has been hailed as one of the world’s top theremin players, known for her unique and captivating sound, and exceptional skills on this uncommon instrument.

Ong is eager to perform for her fans after more than three years away from the stage. “It’s been a challenging time for everyone but music has the power to bring people together for all the good reasons. I can’t wait to perform again and create a special moment for everyone in attendance.”

For those new to Ong’s work, a walk through her Youtube channel Youtube/Oceanachine is a must. Dig farther to find her theremin playing on an indie Sci-fi film, several prog rock projects, and the 2021 Grammy-winning album by Latin legend Fito Páez.

Her synth work and studio production were not exempt from appreciative reviews worldwide either, with Escape from her 3rd album chosen for Jazziz’s Winter 2009/10 compilation. 

Ong is also giving a Talk plus Hands-On session after the concert. The focus will be on the theremin and synth performance. Note that show-ticket holders may decide to stay on and attend the talk plus hands-on session without a separate ticket. If you are attending just the Talk plus Hands-On, you need a ticket for it.
