Mangata Gatherings Unbound 2021
September 19 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
A unique cross-section of some of the city’s leading female creative entrepreneurs is joining forces early this fall to offer a rare and much-needed wellness retreat. MANGATA, the name given to the all-female gatherings founded by local author Varina Willse, will take place on Sunday September 19 at the stone shelters in Edwin Warner Park. Among those on the council of women involved will be renowned tea expert Sarah Scarbrough of Tea Huntress; Clinical Aromatherapist and Nurse Practitioner Blaire Morriss of The Oil Jar, local artist and luminary Brooke Morgan of Nomad Collective; branding and design expert Laura Deleot of Circa Creative Studios; and feng shui and yoga teacher Molly Upchurch of Elemental Sanctuary.
“The idea for Mangata was born out of kinship,” says Willse. “I knew all these different women who were pursuing their own unique passions related to living soulfully. The idea was to create some sort of soul-feed event that would pool their unique set of talents and interests.”
The first Mangata gathering was held in 2018 and the second in 2019, both at Bloomsbury Farm. The event this year will be held at Edwin Warner Park.
“The parks are a greenspace right here in the city that many of us use on a regular basis for rejuvenation. Circa is currently working with Friends of Warner Parks to enhance their marketing initiatives, and there is a wonderful synchronicity that Mangata will be held in the park this year,” says Deleot of Circa Creative Studios, the firm leading communications for the event.
