Wayne Mills Funeral to be in Arab Alabama
From the Tennessean:
The memorial service for slain country singer Wayne Mills will be held on Dec. 8 in Arab, Ala.
Arab was Mills’ hometown and the service will take place in the Arab High School auditorium.
Mills, a well-known singer-songwriter, was fatally shot Nov. 23 at the Pit and Barrel bar in downtown Nashville. According to police, bar owner Chris Ferrell told authorities he shot Mills, 44, in self-defense after an argument over Mills smoking in bar.
Mills later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The shooting remains under investigation, including Ferrell’s claim of self-defense. No charges have been filed.
Mills was the lead singer of the Wayne Mills Band, which toured nationally for more than 15 years. Jamey Johnson, Blake Shelton and Taylor Hicks are among the artists that have opened for band early in their careers.
