Starting Line for Country Music Marathon Moved
The St. Jude Country Music Marathon will have a new starting location when its 15th annual race begins on April 26.
Instead of starting on West End Avenue adjacent to Centennial Park, race organizers are moving the starting location to Lower Broadway near the honky tonks.
The marathon and half-marathon will start from the same location.
“No doubt this is the most significant change ever made in the history of the event and we believe changing the start location to downtown will be a positive one for both runners and the local community, truly showcasing Music City,” said Malain McCormick, Event Director. “Nothing says Nashville like the neon lights and live music along Lower Broadway. Runners staying downtown will literally be able to roll out of bed and be at the start line. With the finish line just a short walk away at LP Field this will not only be one of the most convenient marathons for runners, but for the spectators and supporters as well.”
The location will be near Bridgestone Arena. Runners competing in the marathon, half-marathon or mini-marathon April 26 will cover different ground from start to finish than races in years past, with complete course maps to be unveiled in January.
