4 Things to Do in Nashville This Weekend
There is a LOT going on in Music City this weekend! Weather you are looking to shop or party or seeking family fun, this is a weekend to get out and enjoy your city.
NorthernGRADE American-Made Pop-Up Shop
Let’s start at the end of the weekend, May 5th, just for kicks. There is a one-time pop up shopping experience that has us all pretty excited. NorthernGRADE will be hosting a mixture of locally-made brands and similarly-minded brands from other parts of America. All offer this new yet classic Americana style that is so hot right now. With offerings mainly for men, but some some for women, this pop-up store is one that will make you linger. With coffee from Barista Parlour and tastings from Belle Meade Bourbon, as well as music by Midnight in Memphis and the fun of Smilebooth, you will be entertained while you shop among some familiar brands, as well as some new ones. Everything from boots, to bags, to clothing, to canoes and skateboards will be gathered flea market style. This is a great opportunity to actually talk to the person/people behind each brand–the new generation of “makers” in our country! Yes, it’s family friendly, as well!
After speaking with the co-founder of NorthernGRADE, Katherine McMillian, a 38 year old mom of two who startedPierrepont Hicks with her husband Mac in 2009, she promises that the inventory and atmosphere is perfect for hipsters, families and multi-generations alike. If you appreciate supporting quality and craftsmanship, this is your show. We couldn’t be more excited.
I asked Katherine to put together a quick grouping for our predominantly female readership, so here you go. Katherine’s top 5 picks that you may or may not be familiar with:
One more thing: I have it on good authority that this is a great place to meet single guys. Single ladies, I’m just sayin…
Frist Fashion Friday
Another shopping experience will occur at Hill Center Green Hills on Friday May 3. Ten of the shops have banded together to support the Frist Museum as the upcoming Frist Gala approaches. 10% of all purchases on this day will be donated to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. Remember how we said last week that shopping bricks and mortar gives back to the community? Here is a perfect example. With live models and fun events throughout the day, be sure to stop by and shop.

Indulging in unique art is a sure way to make your home or office unique and “you” in a way no other home accessory can achieve. The preview party kicks off the event on Thursday night, for just a $10 admission. Friday night is Fiesta Friday making a perfect date night. from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy south-of-the-border fare, wine, beer and the margarita machine as you browse the featured artists.
