Casey James and his band, aka “Team Casey James,” raised $13,528.98 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by participating in the second annual No Shave November competition. St. Jude named Casey MVB (“Most Valuable Beard”) for the fundraiser in which his team led the competition for the majority of the month.
Casey shaved his beard off live from the stage last Friday night in Shreveport, LA. To watch go to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kgTerxd4ynU.
“I’m so proud to have been a part of No Shave November,” shares Casey. “Being an artist can sometimes give you the ability to help causes like this in a bigger way. It’s something that I don’t take lightly, and I’m extremely thankful for it. To know that we raised over $13,000 brings me so much joy. I hope we can do more in the future. A special thanks to my band (some of whom haven’t had beards for years) for coming along for the journey.”
“Crying On A Suitcase” is the new hit single from Casey and the follow up to his Top 20 single, “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night.” Both songs are available on his self-titled debut album.
Casey is on the road with fellow Texans JB and the Moonshine Band on the Taste of Country Christmas Tour through December 15. They play in Goliad, TX on Thursday and in Nacogdoches, TX on Friday.
On Monday, December 10, Casey will appear at the American Country Awards in Las Vegas where he is nominated for his first ACA award for Music Video of the Year: New Artist for his video “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night.”
The American Country Awards air live from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Monday, December 10 on FOX at 8pm ET.
