Taylor Swift Likes To Get Cryptic With Fans

One of the things Taylor Swift loves to do in the liner notes of her albums is offer clues to her fans about whom each song is written. In her Speak Now album she capitalized random letters in each song’s lyrics that spelled out words that offered clues to the song’s inspiration. Taylor says one of the reasons she does that is because she loves that her fans love lyrics. “I’m really excited about the fact that you guys really care about lyrics and you learn lyrics,” she says. “That part of music is my favorite part of getting to do this. So, hiding little codes in lyrics is a way of encouraging that and I’m glad you guys care about that because that makes me happy.” Taylor plans to hide clues in her Red album, which will be out on October 22nd, but she says, “It’s pretty difficult to come up with because I know that you guys are going to figure them out. So, I’m trying not to be too cryptic with it but I’m also trying not to give it all away because with the last album it was like this guessing game and people pretty much figured everything out. I thought I was much more clever and cryptic about it.”
