Randy Travis, the man responsible for making traditional country cool again in the late 80s has been charged with driving while intoxicated and threatening law officers in Texas. Travis was naked when he was arrested and Texas troopers responding to the scene said a Trans Am registered to the 53-year-old Travis had been driven off the road and struck several barricades on a construction road. He made threats against the Texas troopers, said Tom Vinger, a Department of Public Safety spokesman. He said the singer refused sobriety tests, so blood test were performed. This is the second arrest for the country star this year involving alcohol. A mug shot released today by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office shows a bruised and battered looking Travis with a black eye and cuts on his face. The felony count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
