Rising country music star Dustin Lynch is partnering with Viddy for a contest to giveaway an autographed guitar. Beginning August 20, fans are asked to submit their favorite country song karaoke-style via Viddy, tagging them #KaraokeDay. Lynch will choose a winner on August 25. “I’m honored to be the first Country artist chosen to work with Viddy on contests and giveaways to my fans,” says Lynch. “It’s an exciting and creative new platform and I can’t wait to get going and to see the videos my fans come up with.”
Viddy, a booming iPhone app that has surpassed 40 million registered users, allows users to upload short, 15-second videos, add special effects like filters and music, and publish them through the app to share with friends and followers. Viddy version 1.7.3 is available for FREE download in the Apple App Store: here.
While a variety of other artists, such as Justin Bieber, Tenacious D, System Of A Down, Linkin Park and Bill Cosby, have teamed with VIDDY for contests and giveaways, Lynch is the first country music artist to do so. The Viddy contest comes in the midst of his self-titled, debut album release, Dustin Lynch, set for Tuesday, August 21, on Broken Bow Records.
Lynch’s album has been pinned one of the “Most Anticipated Debuts of 2012” by Billboard, and the debut single “Cowboys and Angels” has already reached over 400,000 downloads to date. Lynch wrote the debut single alongside GRAMMY-winning songwriter Tim Nichols and chart-topping songwriter/producer Josh Leo. Last week, it landed at #12 on both the Billboard and Mediabase Country Song Charts and is a Top 5 Billboard Heatseekers Song. Lynch recently jumped to #1 on MTV’s music meter, making him the most talked about artist across all genres. Lynch has been named a People Country “Fresh Face of 2012 and is the only solo male featured in the August issue of Nashville Lifestyle magazine’s annual “Hot List.”
