Sunny Sweeney Celebrates Her 30th Grand Ole Opry Performance

Sunny Sweeney proved to be in tune with not only her band, but her traditional roots, performing for the 30th time since her 2007 debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage last Saturday.

“I love, love, love to play The Grand Ole Opry!! Every time I play there it feels like the first time and I cannot get enough of being there. I’m in awe of its history and how gracious all the members are to new, young artists like myself. This time, Larry Gatlin introduced us and we had a blast!!” said Sweeney.

Over the course of her career, Sweeney has shared the stage with county music icons Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams, Jr., as well as today’s hot Superstars like Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker. Earlier this month, she wrapped up a headlining slot on the Country Throwdown Tour.

Currently, Sweeney is writing for her follow up to the critically-acclaimed album, CONCRETE, which was released in 2011 on Republic Nashville. Sunnypenned seven of the 10 tracks, including “From A Table Away,” which is the highest charting debut single for a female country artist since Taylor Swift more than four years ago.
