If you’ve ever been on music row you know how the big record labels and publishers brag about their latest number one. It’s usually in the form of a big obnoxious banner on the side of their building or hung from a tree. But how do the independent guys do it? As of now, the same darn way. When singer/songwriter, Will Hoge’s song “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” (recorded by Eli Young Band) hit the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart and the USA Today/Country Aircheck powered by Mediabase Chart, he celebrated just like the big dogs . . . with a big obnoxious banner in his front yard. Hoge tweeted this yesterday “since I don’t have a publishing deal THIS got put in MY yard!” Score one for the independent guy. Way to go Will!
