Rascal Flatts Changed Tour is quite an impressive production and it looks pretty seamless to fans, but the guys say it took a lot to get it to that point. “You know just a lot of communication, a lot of conversations, a lot of praying that everything that’s hanging above us will stay there,” joked Gary. In all seriousness, Jay says one of the hardest parts of any tour is reinventing themselves. “It’s so difficult, isn’t it, every year to come up with a new way to place the songs together because you get so used to a tour working so well. And you know six months into the tour you’ve got it so well-oiled and you know what songs take you where and lead you into different phases of the show, and to try to reinvent that all over again to make sure that it flows seamlessly is really a daunting task.” One thing they had to do is find places for their latest songs like “Banjo” and “Come Wake Me Up,” which is already in the top 25 and climbing on the charts.
