Barry Gibb To Make Opry Debut

The Grand Ole Opry has announced that pop icon Barry Gibb will be making his Opry debut on Fri., July 27. With a career that has spanned more than five decades, Gibb stands as one of the most prolific singer/song-writer/producers of the modern era. As the co-founder and creative leader of The Bee Gees, Gibb, along with his brothers Maurice and Robin, represent one of the most successful vocal groups in rock and roll history. Speaking on what will be his first performance at the Grand Ole Opry, Gibb commented, “I have dreamed of performing on the hallowed stage of the Opry since I was 12 years old, so this is a dream come true for me. There is no greater honor.”

The Opry has for decades welcomed some of the world’s most iconic figures both from inside and outside the world of country music to its stage, among them: U.S. Presidents, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, Academy Award and Emmy winners, and world-famous journalists and sports figures.
