The Eli Young Band has really begun to see their hard work and dedication pay off in the last year or so, and they admit that there are easier roads to success, but they’re thankful for the 12 year journey they’ve been on up to this point. As Jon points out, “If after the first year we had huge success I think it would have been too soon. We wouldn’t have been ready, I think. We definitely had to be a road band to kind of cut our teeth out there and learn how to play really well together and how to tastes success when it was time.” The guys also feel like they have a huge advantage having been together as a band for so long. “We started this band really early on,” says Mike, “and I think we were lucky to have gone through all of that together, being the four of us, instead of kind of being a musician for five years and then starting a band five years ago or whatever. So you know, we were really lucky to go through all of it together and kind of evolve musically together.” Eli Young Band’s hard work is continuing to pay off with their latest single, ‘Even If It Breaks Your Heart’ currently sitting in the top five and still climbing.
