The Band Perry says they are about halfway through with their sophomore album, and recording it has been a bit of a dream because they are working with legendary producer, Rick Rubin. Most recently Rick took home the Album of the Year Grammy for producing Adele’s 21 album. He’s also worked with U2, Metallica, Tom Petty, Mick Jagger and many other huge stars. The producer hunt for us was about a year-long process says Kimberly Perry, we’ve been meeting and discussing and praying and doing pre-production and trying to decide what the best fit was, and kind of on a whim we said, you know, Rick Rubin is a hero of ours. I’m sure he’s way too busy to take a meeting with The Band Perry, but he did. And we got to hang out on a Thursday afternoon and he called us back that evening and wanted to work together. Not only is Rick helping the band craft their next album, but Kimberly says, he’s been part therapist and part producer. He’s been really, really wonderful helping us through all the sophomore jitters.
