The Band Perry had a chance to play a couple of shows in Europe earlier this year and they will head back overseas for some shows in July, which they’re very excited about because, as Kimberly Perry explains, “We’re just kind of getting to know the international community. That’s a big goal of ours this year is to begin to collect fans overseas.” Kimberly also loves that their European fans are so passionate about the music. “It was such a fertile ground really for country music because they don’t have a ton of it over there. They’re huge country fans,” she says. “In some ways I feel like the genres lines are all blurred and they’re just into really good music.” And she has a theory why they love country music so much in Europe. “I feel like a country song, anybody coming out of our community in this town, is better than nine out of ten songs on pop radio. I just love the country songwriting craft and I feel like that’s really what speaks to those over in the UK.” The Band Perry has five shows planned in Ireland and the UK in early July, so unfortunately they won’t be able to send home a “Postcard From Paris,” but they might be able to drop some in the mail from Dublin or London.
