The Band Perry Likes To Thow A Curve Ball In Concert

If you’ve seen perform live then you know besides their own hits like “All Your Life,” “If I Die Young” and “You Lie,” they enjoy throwing some interesting cover songs into the mix. When they toured Canada with Keith Urban last year they performed Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” every night with Keith because they wanted to throw their fans a curve ball and give them something they wouldn’t expect. Another cover song that often surprises their fans is Queen’s “Fat Bottom Girls.” Kimberly explains, “Fat Bottom Girls’ is always a tip of the hat to both our dad Steve and our mother Marie. He’s the rock-n-roll lover and that’s one of his favorite rock songs. Mom is the country fan so we always throw a little bit of a bluegrass jam at the end of it sort of the tip of the hat to our parents and where we’ve come from musically.” Plus, she adds, “I’m absolutely in love with Queen. Freddie Mercury is, hands down, probably my favorite entertainer of all time. And so, I try to live a little vicariously through the song.”
