Nashville's Christy McDonald Joins The Country Music Hall Of Fame In First-ever Webcast

Students at the Maranacook Middle School in Readfield, Maine, weren’t able to come to Nashville to hear Christy McDonald perform on Wednesday. So, via the first-ever webcast from the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Christy took her music to the classrooms of 7th and 8th graders who had helped her write five of the songs she performed live at the Hall. She also included some tunes from her upcoming first album in the historic performance and had students, teachers and even the school superintendent on their feet dancing and singing along with the music. As the daughter of a teacher, Christy says the event meant at least as much to her as it did to the students.

“It was an honor as a writer and artist to be a part of this historic moment with the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum,” she confides. “To be able to share the beauty of music, writing and performing with the children was such a wonderful experience. I will never forget this day and I am thankful to The Hall of Fame.”
