Sony Boat Show Features Gwyneth Paltrow

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow played host to the Sony Boat show last week in Nashville during CRS. A fun host, the actress said that she has signed on with RCA Records to record an album. The show itself featured performances from Paltrow along with Tim McGraw, Jerrod Niemann, Carrie Underwood and Chris Young. Carrie sang her heart out while fighting a bad cold. When Underwood talked, she sounded horse and like she was having voice trouble, but once Carrie sang, she was flawless. Underwood was presented with a plaque recognizing that her latest album, Play On, has been certified double platinum for hitting the two million mark. Young was given a plaque to commemorate his three consecutive #1 singles.

Brad Paisley, who played last, performed his upcoming single, “Old Alabama,” which features Alabama – and the legendary group joined him on stage. Paisley also made the biggest funny of the night when was introduced by Gwyneth as “my Hollywood friend Charlie Sheen.” Brad played the part well saying he was “winning” and that yes he is on drugs…”it’s a drug called Brad Paisley.” He later apologized for turning his upcoming album in a month late, so now This Is Country Music will not be released until May 24.

  • I know this is not the board for this but I would like to thank Carrie Underwood for showing at the Grand Ole Opry March 4th. I heard she wasn’t feeling well and you could hear and tell it in her voice. We drove 500 miles one way, gas prices sky rocket, hotel etc. just to see her at the Opry. Bless her heart she was sick and showed that is a professional and I thank you for it.
