Chris Young On Movie Song

Chris Young is now in the movies… a movie soundtrack anyway. Young told GAC that getting to record “Love Don’t Let Me Down,” a duet with Patty Loveless that appears on the Country Strong soundtrack was a big deal for him. He said, “I never thought I’d be able to sing on a movie soundtrack or sing with Patty Loveless. It’s cool how more and more of that stuff is coming together and really happening in my career, and it’s nice to be able to say that.”

Chris remembers when the song came to him, noting, “When we originally kind of threw everything around, somebody brought up the name Patty Loveless. I was like, ‘She’s not gonna do a duet we me. She doesn’t even know me. And so [we] ended up getting in touch with her through the label, and you know, it was kind of cool, ’cause she was interested in doin’ it and heard the song and liked the song. And man, [I'm] just so glad it came together. You know, one, this is my first time ever bein’ on a movie soundtrack, and then, two, to be able to have it be a really cool song with somebody that I admire in the music industry is nice.” The movie, which stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw, comes out nationwide January 7.
