They may be closing in on the Big 5-0, but as long as Trace Adkins and Toby Keith can each kick my buttocks—and they definitely can—I’ll be the last one to say the two manly country stars are looking a little long in the tooth. But, in all honesty, Trace and Toby do look a lot younger than they are. That’s partly the result of good genes and partly because they’ve both done their share of working out and avoiding cream pies in the past few years. So, how do they feel about reaching the 50 milestone, as Toby will do next year and Trace the year after? During a recent chat with The Boot, the two superstars opened up about the impact of aging on their lives. “Age is just a number to me,” declares Toby. “I’m very grateful and really healthy. There’s people that are old when they’re 25 . . . I play full court basketball two or three nights a week, and I feel like I did when I was 30.” Trace is also in great shape, and doesn’t give aging a second thought. “I’m not concerned about it at all,” says the Louisiana native. “As long as I’m feeling good, I’m not going to worry about it. It doesn’t make a difference. I’m not one of those people who’s going to cling tooth and nail to youth. If my hair falls out, it just falls out.”—David Scarlett
