Thread: Area Malls

    Default Area Malls

I'm going to be in Nashville this weekend for a hair show, shopping mainly on Saturday and Monday. I've never been to Opry Malls, but I think we'll probably go there. Any must-shop stores there?

Also, I think we'll hit the warehouse shoe store, but I'll be shopping for some sandals for my hubby, and I'm not sure they can deliver on that. Any good mens' shoe stores in the area?

Other than shoes, I'll probably be shopping for handbags and maybe womens' clothing. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

I think your review of Opry Mills mall really depends on where you're coming from. If you're coming from a big city noted for shopping, you may be a bit disappointed. If you're coming from a small town with limited shopping, you may find yourself in heaven. This is a BIG mall! Wear comfortable shoes. You'll have tons of shop selections. When you said that you'll hit the warehouse shoe store - did you mean "Off Broadway Shoes" ? There's the one near Music Row - but there's also one at Opry Mills. Have fun!

Thanks for the reply! I'm leaving tonight after work, so I'll be shopping all day tomorrow and Monday. We're in town for a hair show, so will be busy with that on Sunday.

I remember going to Opryland as a kid, so I'm mostly curious to see what they turned it into. I think we'll probably hit it Monday. Tomorrow we're going to the Green Hills mall, and probably the Cool Springs Galleria. We're quick shoppers and used to shopping in St Louis, so I think we can breeze through them easily enough.

Yes, the shoe stores we'll be hitting are the Off Broadway Shoe store, and probably DSW shoes. I can't wait!

Oh is Opry Mills the best mall? That's disappointing...

Actually, the only thing I really liked about Opry Mills was the Aquarium restaurant. I don't think we bought anything while we were there. Also, they have a Rainforest Cafe and that looked interesting.

I think our favorite mall of the 3 we visited (Green Hills, Cool Springs and Opry Mills) was Cool Springs. We did quite a bit of shopping there. Green Hills seemed to have a strange layout, but I liked a lot of the stores there.

On our next trip we're planning to visit the Rivergate mall.

For sure, the Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse is not to be missed. DSW was a little disappointing, but I still managed to find 2 pairs of shoes for my hubby.

We had a great time in Nashville!

I was in town for a hair show at the convention center for the weekend. We had a great time, our corporate sponsor rented the Wild Horse Saloon for a party for us, which was great fun. I really am looking forward to next year's show and will be sure to attend.

Outside of the show we mostly shopped and ate . We went to PF Chang's one night and dined outside, which was really nice considering the it was early May and I'm from further north (central Illinois). We also went to Buca di Bepo's (or however you spell that) with a group. I would only recommend going there if you are in a big group...the quantities of food were overwhelming.

We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel that's connected to the convention center. It was a nice hotel...I particularly loved their exterior glass elevators!

I'm sure we'll be back next May for the next show, and we're already making plans for more shopping!

For relocation information... I would be interested to know how many shopping malls there are in Nashville, and which one is the most prestigious one? What Department stores are there? (Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Macy's...etc)?

Thank you, I appreciate your time!

In my opinion, the nicest mall in Nashville is the Mall at Green Hills. The big department stores are Macy's & Dillard's.

Other malls worth going to include Cool Springs Galleria (Macy's, Dillard's, Belk, JC Penney, SEARS) and Opry Mills Mall (Off 5th-Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet)
