Thread: Hotel Recommendation For CMA Fest 2008

Question Hotel Recommendation For CMA Fest 2008

After reading about the event in 2007 I have decided to visit
the 2008 CMA Fest because I am a very big country fan even living in Germany.

I have never been at Nashville and dont know where all the places are
where the concerts take place. So it is difficult for me to locate a hotel which is so close that I can walk to most of the concerts. I will have a rented car but I think it is adviceable due to the large crowds not to move by car to and from concerts.

So if you have recommendations about hotels please let me know I have time to book but on the other side I want to make my booking in the summer already to be sure to have tickets and a room. The flights can be booked much later.

    Thanks for your help.

    Default 2008 CMA Accommodations

    Hi Olin -

Good for you for planning so far in advance - good thinking! For what you've described, I'd recommend checking out the Renaissance Nashville Hotel:

    Renaissance Nashville Hotel
    611 Commerce Street
    Nashville, TN
    615-255-8400
Located 1 block from Broadway and in the business district, this downtown Nashville hotel is connected to the Convention Center, and within walking distance of Gaylord Entertainment Center, Coliseum, B.B. King's Blues Club, Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, and Historic Second Avenue District, which boasts Nashville's most popular "honky tonks" and live entertainment.

    Best of Luck,

    Default Thanks

    Hi,

have checked the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in the Internet and it seems to me a very good hotel. But to be honest I dont know what higher rates they will charge when CMA is running and what they charge as advertised with 169 $ per night seems quite a lot for me. This means that I had to spend more dollars for 5 nights in the hotel then I would spend for the transatlantic flights.
Do you have some other hotels close in this surrounding which are more for
the "budget oriented" tourist how you call it in the US.

But if you think it is worth the money let me know but keep in mind that I am travelling single and most of the day I will be out of the hotel and enjoying the
    CMA Fest.

Nevertheless I like the fast response to this unusual question shows me again that people in the South are a little bit more friendly then the rest.
(Must confess that I lived for three years in Raleigh N.C. and since then I can only say the southern hospitality is not a myth I have enjoyed it the whole time and my dearsest friends are from this time and place)

    Olin,
I recommend the Alexis Inn & Suites. Its actually outside of downtown, closer to the airport. Its clean and quiet (no airplane or traffic noises.) And inexpensive. Although, during the CMA Fan Fest, I am sure all the hotels/motels raise their rates a bit.
I have stayed there everytime I visit Nashville. (3 out of the last 4 years.) But, not during CMA fest....

    Enjoy!!

We Stayed At Radisson Hotel Opryland During The Festival, And It Was Good. The Swimming Pool Is Lovely!!! We Had A Server In Applebee's Restaurant Who Wasn't Happy With The Tip We Left Her, But One Of The Guys Who Work In The Is VERY Fit!!! There's A Lovely Restaurant In Cracker Barrel Over The Road As Well So I Recommend It!!!

    Default Hotel for CMAfest

We stayed at the Days Inn just a few blocks from the stadium where the nightly concerts are. We walked there each day and hopped on the shuttle to downtown or you can walk across the new above the city walk. Then we took the shuttle from downtown where we spent the day to the nightly concerts and then either walk back to the motel or shuttle back downtown...rates are $132 a night with a continental breakfast and an indoor pool. The area isn't the greatest but there are numerous groups of people walking and it always seem safe enough...we walked home after the concerts in groups. Hope this helps. Pat

    Thumbs up Where To Stay

I Always Stay At Opryland Hotel. It Is Pricey, But The Service Has Always Been Great And The Shuttles Make It Very Convenient For Me.
