Thread: Nashville Bound!

    Question Nashville Bound!

Hi there, I'm 22 years old and looking to move to Nashville within in a year (hopefully earlier, depending on $$ and job prospects!). I'm curious as to what an average apartment cost down there? Don't be afraid to shock me I really want a realistic estimate/idea-as I'm trying my best to be the most prepared. I'm looking for something near downtown and close to a prospective job. I'm a tough country girl, but I don't know anyone down there and don't want to get taken advantage of. I'm just looking for a decent living space for a reasonable price. I'm also curious if there is a site where I can search for prospective roommates? Any information offered will be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much. Have a good one!

    herksgirl01,

Take a look at Craiglist http://nashville.craigslist.org/apa/

The downtown areas can be expensive, but you may see some oportunities for lower rent in an older rental near West End, in MidTown, maybe Green Hills, or 12 South. Germantown and East Nashville may have more hit and miss rentals that you'll want to check into the condition of before getting too excited about price. Also, Vanderbilt students are searching now, so its a bit of a high season. If you start to look after August, you find some better deals.

    Default Nashville Apartments

    herksgirl01,

In downtown Nashville, the average 1 bedroom apartment can run you $1200 a month . There are some much older buildings where you can find 1 bedrooms for $550 or so a month, but those are certainly places you would need to check out before you get too excited (like Kevin mentioned).

In addition to Craig's List, you can try contacting this apartment locator service 615-833-3151. Also, you can post a free ad on the Nashville.com Classifieds for a roommate seach - here's the link: http://nashville.com/classifieds/ind...=Nashville.com

Go to the Community Billboard category - left hand side of page and then look for "Roommates Needed" sub-category.

    Best of luck to you!
