Default Moving to Nashville from GA

Good morning! my fiance and I are relocating to Nashville from Columbus, GA. We are interested in East Nashville and hope to soon call it home. If anybody has any suggestions as to homes (we are planning to rent initially), restaurants, shops, bars, etc, we would appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks so much!

Default some info on East Nashville

East Nashville is a very trendy place to live right now - much different than Columbus, GA - pretty sure! The area is very gay-friendly and liberal - but no different than a lot of other areas in the country which are close to downtowns. There are great bars and restaurants. BUT, every street is different. On some streets, all of the houses have been redone and are very nice and very expensive. On others they are cheaper, but not renovated. The area is surrounded by 'questionable' neighborhoods and unfortunately, there is crime. I don't think you could find any area close to a downtown that is very, very safe. What's cool is that the houses are all old and have character - big plus. Definitely check out the area when you're in town and let me know your thoughts.

    Hi
I'm Darrell. I work for the EXIT REALTY GROUP. I know about the downtown area if you have questions. I was born and raised here so I'm pretty familiar with all the surrounding counites as well. What exactly are you guys looking for? If you have questions, please give me a call/email.

Quick word - I don't want to discourage you from real estate in East Nashville. My experience with neighborhoods in general is that in any city, every good neighborhood will have a bad one in at least one direction. How safe that neighborhood or real estate investment is is determined by how MANY sides of that neighborhood are surrounded by low end, dangerous neighborhoods.
    Just a thought
