Hi, we are coming to nashville for three weeks at the end of October fro Scotland. Whilst the music is the main reason for our visit, we'd also like to do some shopping and eat out.

I've been to America once before and I loved the waffle house, golden coral and ruby tuesdays amongst others for eating.
I love visiting walmart because it's so unlike anything we have here in Scotland it's like a day out for me.. lol.

Anyways, I'm wondering if someone would be able to tell me the best location to look for a place to stay that is close to ALL of the above mentioned?

We would also be grateful if someone could tell us if there's a launderette?

There are many great places to stay in downtown Nashville - what's your budget? The most economical place is Holiday Inn Express on Broadway. There are others such as the Sheraton, Renaissance, Hilton, Courtyard Marriott and the Hermitage - rates vary. All are within walking distance of Broadway & 2nd Ave - which is where you're going to find Nashville's world famous honky-tonk bars and restaurants. As for shopping - you're going to have to drive (but not too far). Head over to Opry Mills. It's within walking distance from the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and next door to the Grand Ole Opry. Other recommended shopping areas include The Mall at Green Hills (upscale) and the Cool Springs Galleria in Franklin.

Laudromats - try Green Cleaners (615-320-6500) They're located in downtown Nashville and they offer a drop-off wash & fold service. While I have never personally used them, I have not heard anything negative about them. Also, I know some of the hotels in the downtown Nashville area use their services.

If Wal Mart is your thing - you might also enjoy a visit to Super Target! There's a relatively new one in Smyrna (just opened last January) south of downtown Nashville maybe 20 minutes (stay away from rush hour).
    Write on!
