Interested in home/condo downtown

I am considering moving to Nashville in the next year. I want to be in the city and able to walk to nearly everything I need...from restaurants to stores to entertainment. I would also like to be near a park. Any suggestions?

If you are wanting to have a combination of urban living with associated nightlife, restaurants, music etc but also have the ability to use the nearby park then I would suggest you look at the West End area of Nashville.
If you click HERE you can search all the current listings in the rea. Use the zoom in and zoom out function to widen or narrow the area.

There are a number of cool and trendy restaurants such as the Tin Angel, Zolas, Rumba Rum Bar and Satay Grill and more. There is the ever popular P.F Changs and Flemings Prime Steakhouse and wine bar for upscale dining.

The park you had indicated you'd like to have access to would be Centennial Park and its famed Parthenon reproduction. This is a great spot for walking and exercising as well as a great venue for the many fiars and events such as Shakespear in the Park.

Hillsboro Village is another area that fits your bill too.

Thanks, PB and Gary. I guess the wisest thing to do in the beginning is rent for a few months and see how I like it. However, I have 2 tiny Chihuahuas. They are quiet and well mannered but some people would rather not rent to people with dogs. As a landlord, I have never had damage done by pets. Humans, on the other hand...Centennial Park sounds ideal. The rental would only need to be safe and clean, size is unimportant. When I purchase, I will need a minimum of 3br, 2ba. I would prefer a condo or townhouse. The dogs are "puppy pad" trained but a terrace would be nice as would a fireplace and a view. As for price, I would prefer to keep it around $500,000 or less but will go to $750,000 or a little higher if something incredibly fabulous comes on the market at a steal. I would prefer a fixer that I can remodel to fit my needs. I have a realtor in Birmingham who will be overseeing any purchase I make and I have been contacted by Jonny at Gary's REMAX office. As the widow of a former REMAX agent, I do feel a certain loyalty but ultimatly, my decision will be based on finding the property closest to perfect to me. Thanks, Diane
