Will visit for 3 days, its myself, husband, and 3 yr old. Like to eat, sight see, and just have fun. No babysitter so has to be kid friendly!

Some options:
Visit the Opry Mills Outlet Mall. The kids all seem to like the Aquarium Restaurant there. Also, while you're in the area visit the Opryland Hotel. It's worth a visit just to walk through.
Other attractions include Centennial Park, the Hermitage (home of Andrew Jackson), the Belle Meade Plantation, Cheekwood (the summer "fun exhibit" of fairy tales is still on through sometime in September), Bicentennial Mall and the Farmers Market, the Adventure Science Center, downtown Nashville (lower Broadway, Second Avenue, Riverfront Park), downtown Franklin (quaint), Old Hickory or Priest Lake (Priest would probably be better for a family visit), the Frist Center for the Visual Arts (there's a kids art thing up on the second floor), the symphony hall, the Ryman (just about anyone who's anyone has played there), Warner Park (if you want to get away from it all and take a stroll), Radnor Lake . . .
I'm sure I'll think of others later, but those are the ones that come to mind.
The aquarium restaurant is pretty cool..i'd definitely recommend it
