Looking To Relocate To Franklin

I have been doing extensive research on Franklin, and specifically the following communities: The Meade at Avalon and Mckays Mill.....I am looking for unvarnished opinions from non-pros (i.e. no real estate folks) about these 2 communities ....I like the upscale appearance of the homes in these developments, proximity to 65, and in the case of Meade, the Brentwood school district.....

To be blunt, we are Jewish, albeit non practicing, and not religious....my wife is greatly concerned about anti semitism in the schools and community as a whole....Being from South Florida, this of course has not been an issue, as there is a large Jewish community here .....your honest thoughts and opinions would be most appreciated....

You're fine! Nothing to worry about -and- actually I believe the Franklin area has a decent Jewish community. I'm amazed about how people think Nashville would not accept people from other races and with different religious backgrounds - this is simply NOT the case here. Unfortunately I don't have any insight on those two communities, but I can't imagine why you would encounter any problems.

It is comforting to know that in your opinion I would not encounter anti Jewish sentiment in Franklin......Please note that if I were thinking of moving to any community, this would be foremost on my mind for my children's sake...I grew up in NY and experienced overt anti semitism as a child, so no, I do not think to single out Nashville as a place where this may be prevalent....If anything,time and events have shown that the Jewish people are the most persecuted in history....trust me, there are ignoramuses in this country who still think we grow horns out of our head, conspire to control the banks, and hold on to the first nickel we ever earned....

You're welcome! And, yes I certainly understand there are plenty of ignoramuses in this country -but- they can be found in any city whether big or small, north, south, east or west. I'm a bit familiar with the Boca Raton area, so just be prepared to know the Jewish community in Nasvhille does pale in comparison (number-wise). It will be an adjustment, but unless you're pushing your religion on others (I seriously and highly doubt you will), I just can't imagine having problems. Franklin is a beautiful area - nice neighborhoods with great schools! Best of luck to you and your family.
