    Arrow need advice...

I have read a few threads about how to "get your foot in the door" if you're an aspiring artist. I have been singing for a while now, and my ultimate dream is to become a successful recording artist. My genre is modern country and contemporary christian. I am a high school senior from northern AL, so hanging out on music row on the weekends is not a very standard option for me. Is there anyone here who has any advice on another ways that I could get myself heard by Nashville area producers and music executives?

Are you ready to be heard?
Northern AL isn't that far. So MAKE getting up to Nashville on the weekends an option. You can't be the life of the party if you don't come to the party. That's the harsh truth.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Well, the best thing you could do is be prepared. Have you ever recorded any music?

No, I have never recorded. I would like to, but due to time and money, I haven't gotten around to it.

Well, it's really tough to get a meeting if you don't have anything to play for these guys. If I were you, I'd try to start writing music. Get some experience under your belt. If you don't have a band try to put one together.

I have tried writing some, but it doesn't turn out great. Would it be ok to record a small demo of a song or two, even if they aren't original?

Sure people do that all the time. It just helps your chances a little if you write too.

I will be in Nashville Feb. 16-19. Are there any good places I could get into in that time frame to record a demo? Will there be anything going on that would help me get a little experience?

Try Larry Beaird's studio. He's very reasonable.

Wow. That is still pretty expensive. Are there any good ''hang outs'' that would get heard?
