    Default Opinons on Millennium Hotel

I am thinking about the Millennium Hotel in downtown Nashville. It seems to be just a bit out of the circut but looked pretty nice. Any feed back?

We were going to do the General Jackson dinner and boat tour, then hit some clubs later etc...

It would be okay and nice enough but I don't know that I consider it anything special (even though at least one president stayed there). It's not really in downtown however; it's in MetroCenter (I work within sight of the hotel).

You might be better off with one of the hotels nearer the Lower Broad/2nd Avenue area such as the Holiday Inn Express.

There's any number of clubs downtown around Broadway/Second Avenue and that general area. Some of the better known are the Wildhorse Saloon, BB King's, Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar, Hard Rock-Nashville Cafe, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge (somewhat historic but not that impressive to me). Away from downtown there's the Station Inn and (what is arguable the most influential club in town although you could drive by the place and never notice it was there) the Bluebird Cafe in Green Hills.

There might be someone playing at the Ryman when you're in town. A variety of people play the Ryman, anyone from James Taylor to Emmylou Harris.

When you get to town, pick up a copy of the Nashville Scene. It's free and it lists a lot of clubs and restaurants. It also has a bunch of editorial crap you can ignore.

Best wishes. I hope you enjoy your visit to Nashville.

By the way, if you happen to pass the state capital, there was a guy named Sam Houston who used to sit there. I think he went on to do something else, but I can't remember what. ;-)
