Nashville Attractions
If you're planning on going to these places - Belle Meade Plantation, Opryland, General Jackson Showboat, Hermitage, Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, Parthenon and over to the Music Row area, yes, you will need a car. The Doubletree does not offer any type shuttles.
Just in case you're wondering, this hotel only offers valet parking - at this time, it's $20 a night and you can take your car in & out as much as you want. There is another parking garage very close to the Doubletree and their charge is about $16 a night. Keep in mind you have to pay every time you leave.
Lots of restaurants and things to do are right within the walking distance of Doubletree. Attractions include the Ryman, Tennessee State Museum, Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Muscians Hall of Fame & Museum, Nashville Symphony (Schermerhorn Symphony Center), Sommet Center, Nashville Convention Center, etc. Also within walking distance is Broad Street as well as 2nd Ave - this is where the action is - lots of honky tonk bars, restaurants, people watching.
