Questions about Nashville

Hey everyone,

My name is Autumn, and I will be relocating to Nashville sometime late next year. My mom and I are currently looking for places to buy a condo/home/we're not really sure yet, but we have a couple questions. I don't know anyone from Nashville yet, so I wanted to get opinions from all of you on these things.

1. I work in the music industry, and most likely will be continuing my career when I get there with one of the labels in town, I was curious to know what area's I should be looking in for this? I will most likely be working with Universal South, so if anyone is familiar with where this is located, I'd like to keep my driving time to no longer than 30 minutes a day.
2. My mom is also very concerned with which area's are safe? Obviously, we've never been there and don't know what sort of area's are known as the bad ones and the good ones.
3. My personal preference is an area where I can have just enough land to have a dog and have it be happy with some space in the back/front yard.

Some of these questions may seem completely stupid, I can see that by looking them over, but I've never been so I'm just trying to get the best answers I can. I am planning to visit sometime in September/October of this year and staying for a couple weeks. But, I thought it would be cool to get some opinions so I know exactly where to go when I do get there finally. So thank you for dealing with me

As a realtor I can't really "steer" you to one area or another but in terms of a 30 minute commute to the Music Row area I can tell you that you have lots of options.

The price range that you are looking in will also determine whats available to you. To get a feel for the different areas and whats available just use the map search feature at www.Nashville.com/realestate

You'll be able to search all the homes listed and create your own search profile and see exactly where those homes are located on the map of Nashville.

The price range will help you narrow this down. Once you see the pictures of the homes and the comments made by the listing agent you'll get a feel for
values and whats needs fixing up and whats in move in condition etc.

Again, the price range is the major factor and the profile you create will generate a list of homes that will give you details about the yard size etc.

One of the main reasons I am looking forward to moving to Nashville is that I have always dreamed of working in the music industry. My biggest passion in life is music, and I would love nothing more than to work for a major record label. Does anyone have any advice on getting into this field as a career, any thing would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hey,
With regard to getting into the music industry I think most people will tell you the biggest step is actually moving here. Once you are here its just a matter of networking and applying for jobs.

I had a friend who was a receptionist at a major label and has since gone on to work for a management company.

Just by being in Nashville and attending musical events and functions you'll eventually meet some one who actually works in the industry and will be able to give you first hand advice
