was one of the best local news personalties middle Tennessee had. What a waste to let him go off the air and community.

I've been watching WSMV for eons and would agree that Aaron Solomon seemed irritated and miserable in the months (years?) leading up to his leaving. He was decent enough, but seemed fairly stiff and unapproachable, lacking any real on-air warmth. I imagine this is why he was ultimately let go.

And I might add that though Tim Ross had a folksy goofy doofy on-air persona that some people (mostly elderly) thought was "cute," he was terribly annoying to most viewers. I can't even listen to him on radio with his cornball voice and horrible jokes. His pronounciation of "Nashville" as "Nayshville" drives everyone up the wall. Get rid of him, 95 FM!!

As for Josh Devine, he's a decent interim guy. I think some viewers are panicked and afraid because he seems obviously gay which, actually, is kind of cool for Nashville.

The real question is why oh WHY do they keep Jimmy Carter on that channel? What a HUGE embarrassment for Nashville and WSMV! That guy is so unbelievably bad that I cringe every time I see him. He's unattractive, bad at reporting, not very bright, horribly sexist, and a complete and utter buffoon. I notice that many entertainers go out of their way to avoid him. Ugh. Music City needs an actual entertainment reporter...Not a city-wide joke.

I think WSMV has warned all their employees and must be threatening their lives if they spilled the beans ....because NO ONE is talking about Aaron Solomon's absence. But...... I do know Aaron was definitely let go by the new GM, Doreen Wade. She is brand new to the station, and can be known to make your life miserable. Station ratings have tanked over a three year period and Wade isn't wasting any time making changes.

WSMV used to be #1 two years ago - but the bottom line is that their morning show ratings are currently a disaster and someone had to be sacrificed. The station is now conducting a nationwide search for Aaron's replacement.

Just to set the record straight, according to his wife, Aaron was offered the opportunity to stay at Channel 4 at no reduction in salary to do sports and continue to do Cool Schools for the morning show, but he declined. You can draw your own conclusion about that, but you also have to wonder, with so many people desperate for a job. The vicious attacks on their GM are also apparently uninformed and unwarranted. It's been way longer than 2 years since they were #1, and she was apparently brought in to try to improve their standing. You can't get better without making changes.

I moved to tennessee in 1983 and loved dan and demetria----loved bill hall and tim ross and loved to turn on the news as i was getting ready for work and hear aaron and holly---loved the cool schools, loved their demeanor together and was in a good mood watching them in am----even when they had to report bad news, they did it professionally and with good taste. I am not trying to disrespect josh, but its like watching a married couple apart and you see the new partner trying to fit in where the other partner left off---it's uncomfortable. Did the management of wsmv not watch the show?....i keep watching because I love holly but i dont think josh is the choice as her partner on the show---need someone more lively and energetic and josh would be better somewhere else---he does a good job but it's not the right fit
I hope wsmv listens---lots of people talking in the community and people are changing the channels---

It appears management at channel 4 doesn't have a clue how to pick a good morning anchor replacement. Just a heads up they have a current ad for a morning news anchor on their website. The managing director has made life miserable for many. She is the one who needs to go. Replace her with someone who has class and knows how to communicate with the general public, you know, the ones who watch channel 4 news! It is apparant she can't communicate with her staff. She is nothing short of a numbers crunching hatchet woman....you go go girl~see where that will get you....that's right, viewers moving to channel 5!

Aaron was and still is a great guy. He connected with the common people. I loved watching him on Channel 4. When he left, I left Channel 4. They made a huge mistake. He was well liked. It is Channel 4's loss and it will be some other stations good fortune. There are plenty of people that feel the same way as I do.

Aaron, we are behind you and believe in you. God Bless you, Angie, and the kids. Everyone will learn the truth hopefully before too long. We all know you are an honest person.

I have been a lifelong resident of the Nashville area. My job requires me to travel in all parts of Davidson and some of all the surrounding counties. After 37 years of doing this, I have become quite familiar of these neighborhoods and communities. What gripes me the most is how the graphic writers post locations during the newscasts. Obviously the script hacks "ain't from around here". For example, Dickerson Rd is not in "North Nashville", Green Hills isn't in "West Nashville", there is more than one "Old Hickory Blvd and I-65" and on and on. These geographically news hacks need to buy a Nashville map or just call me. I know where Scottsboro, Joywood, Bakertown, etc is.

PLEASE don't replace Aaron with that Josh Devine. I know I speak for many viewers, we will not continue to watch him. I have no intention of waking up to that..........Well I'm pretty sure that everyone who has watched him knows exactly what he is and the title is not anchor material!

I really liked Aaron but he was not a good news reader. He stumbled through every news story. The only person that is worse is Alan Frio. A couple of times when Aaron was on vacation, Josh filled in for him and did a much better job delivering the news. I thought to myself that Aaron should be careful taking time off when the sub does a better job. I did not want him to go. I thought he and Holly were great together, I just thought perhaps he should come in a little early and maybe read through the news so he would at least be familiar with the stories he was about to read on the air. I think Josh is a very likable man and I think he is doing a great job. By the way, Mr or Mrs Prejudice (above), I know what you are suggesting but what difference does that make? Perhaps you will feel better to know I heard him talking about his girlfriend on the air.
As far as other changes go, the best thing ever was to get rid of Tim Ross. I have been watching channel 4 news all of my life and he is the only thing that has ever made me turn the channel. He was either being so silly it was embarrassing or being so opinionated that it was infuriating. I was so very glad to see him go.

between Aaron & Mr. Tim channel 4 is BUSTED!!! i won't even watch it anymore, i sopke with Tim personally & he told me the shabby way they did him& now AAron! I do however like Tom &Demetria together at night but the blonde is just that a dumb blond!!!! I like Josh Devine and think he does a fantastic professional job no matter what time he is on. I liked Aaron but I think Josh does a better job reporting the news. I also was tired of Cool Schools. I dont understand why management would let Aaron go and keep Jonathan Martin. He is constantly flubbing his words. Because of him I wont watch 4 news on the weekends. I loved watching Sara Dorsey on the weekends she was bright energetic professional. Now she is gone. I dont understand how they decide who to let go and who to keep.

A couple of the previous comments enrage me. Obviously Chelsea doesn't know Aaron at all. Another comment tells me they don't know Angie very well either. First of all... Aaron is a good christian man that was forced into resigning or tell a blatent lie on the air. Angie writes about what happened to him on her FaceBook blogs because Aaron is still under a gag order. If they would make some changes in the front office of WSMV.... It would likely return to being a station that we all knew and loved. Its about time this jerk is gone. I have been watching Holly on WSMV since the mid 90s but I just can't stand this man. Neil Orne comes across as a much more likeable and the chemistry between Steve, Amy, and Leland on 5 is obvious. I ran into Aaron at a Titans game years ago but before I could figure out what to say to him he just starred at me like I was a homeless bum or something and I've never like him since. Cool Schools is stupid and he always looked like an idiot. I really hope I never have to watch him on channel 4 again. If I didn't like Holly so much I would have quit watch Channel 4 in the mornings. I wish Josh Devine the best!

What is WSMV thinking? Now with Aaron gone the morning show is not the same, At first Tim Ross left and now Aaron. Even if the news was bad, Aaron helped to make it easier to understand. It really sickens me to read posts about what wonderful ,"Christian", and honest people Aaron and his wife Angie are. They may appear that way but they are far from it. They have been dishonest and hurt many people that befriended them. They are very convincing and good at painting a perfect family picture. It's amazing to me how everyone is so eager to jump on the band wagon to support someone just because they are a semi-celebrity. I pray that Aaron and Angie will change their ways and ask for forgiveness. Maybe then, things will start to get better for them. And yes, I do know this for a fact!

We can't stand watching Josh DeVine on Channel 4 News. He is terrible at anchoring the news, and just way too annoying in the early morning. If we happen to see him filling in on the weekends, we immediately switch channels. He just seems to try way too hard to be an anchorman, over gesturing. He never seems to know which camera to look at, very amateur. And worst of all, he has the most annoying girlish giggle and laugh. And his ever growing bald spot almost blinds me. Get him off the anchor desk and back out in the field reporting (although he always seems to be wearing a suit, even when reporting on casual stories that don't warrant a suit). He reminds me of a Pentecostal preacher type. Very bad at anchoring the news.

Channel 4 is much better off without Aaron Solomon. They don't "need" him. He had no chemistry with anyone and only seemed concerned about himself. Maybe he was asked to move back into sports because of this reason and low ratings. Josh Devine and Alan Frio have been good fill-ins until a permanent replacement is found.
