I am really sorry that Aaron is gone. Not sure I will keep watching 4....but I think Jonathan Martin would be great on the morning show.

Sad truly sad watched every morning and more and more find me tuning away to something else. Not much else really to watch though Mike and Mike on ESPN is boring when not in football season and MSNBC Morning Joe used to be entertaining now it is just a show that looks like some "popular kids" at a lunch table dogging everyone....
Dan Miller and Demetria had something so special, that I probably will never see again. I think Dan would be so disappointed if he could see what is going on there now. I believe Dan would have picked Aaron to take his place if he had the chance. It was such a given, Aaron reminds me so much of Dan when he first came to WSMV. Wake up and don't let a general manager ruin a station who has made Nashville proud for many years.
As a native Nashvillian I grew up watching WSM. Over the years my TV was rarely on another channel. My husband advertised live on Ralph Emery's show so I always watched that. I'm an early riser and for the last several years I have been watching Ch. 2. A few observations about WSMV: 1. There are so many commercials on their news casts it's a wonder we get any "news" at all. 2. They really screwed up in the direction they went after Dan died. I don't watch their afternoon or evening news much at all anymore. 3. They get rid of people like Aaron Solomon yet keep absolute morons like Alan Frio. He may be the worst newscaster I've ever seen. 4. Their reporters BUTCHER the king's English. Their grammar is unbelievable. I could go on and on. RIP Dan Miller. Nashville just isn't the same without you and I don't think Ch. 4 will ever recover.
Wow, I totally forgot all about Bob Sellers. He didn't have a chance I guess. But I loved Aaron Solomon too and especially Tim Ross. They both are greatly missed. Josh is a good reporter but something about him just does not strike me as warm and personable as a co host/anchor, even though he probably is in everyday life.
there were changes that aaron didnt like so he decided to take a walk by the way he came to my school for cool schools a couple years ago and he was really short like 5'5
Will miss Aaron on the Cool Schools segments. He will be missed.
I just cannot watch Channel 4 in the morning any longer. I like Holly Thompson, but this Josh Devine is so irritating it makes me switch immediately to Channel 5. This guy has the strangest on air mannerisms, twitching and looking away while Holly is reading the news. He is just terrible and seems to try way too hard. Get rid of him, or a loyal Channel 4 viewer will be gone too.
I can't believe Ch 4 let this asset leave....he was very good and paired well with Holly Thompson. The substitute Josh Devine is horrible....he has the worse on camera jitters and mannerisms that make me crazy. I switch to Channel 5 as soon as I see him. Please bring back Aaron and get rid of this amateur Josha Devine.
We all miss Dan Miller the most, but the loss of Bob Sellers and Tim Ross (horrible politics) are actually welcome. The station is *much* better and more professional without them.
Aaron was the best on the Morning show, and should have been kept at all costs. Holly is a joke, and should have been the first one out of there. Why does she always read the news as if she were talking to little children??? PLEASE get rid of her, pronto!
I can't say it better than a previous poster quoted below - you are so right! A slap in the face to Aaron Solomon (and to long time viewers) to let him go, especially after the great job he did with Cool Schools. Wishing Aaron the best, he is sharp and will hopefully land on his feet in an even better market. Alan Frio seems like a pleasant enough person, but really has trouble reading a sentence without stumbling all over the place. It's comical at times. Bob Sellers was the same way. I like Tom Randles but still miss Tim Ross.

Are you kidding me? I almost stop watching when Tim left. (loved that guy) Now its a no brainer! Without Aaron it wont be the same....Many of my family members feel the same way. I have counted 7 so far that will be changing the channel no matter who you replace him with....
aaron soloman will be surely missed. it is a shame the traffic goofball is not gone instead!!!
Aaron was excellent in the morning and worked well with Holly. He will be missed. But I also think Josh Devine does an excellent job and enjoy watching him whether he's doing news, weather, or out on assignment. Keep up the good work Josh. I don't miss Bob Sellers and certainly not Tim Ross, but I think they could have got rid of Jennifer Johnson and kept Aaron. Demetria and Tom do a good broadcase in the evenings too. Tom's got big shoes to fill, but he's doing well. I'm staying a loyal channel 4 fan.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I was never a fan of Aaron. I never thought he was very personable on camera and he never was particularly engaging. However, I wasn't completely turned off by him until he visited my school during Cool Schools. He was exceedingly rude to several students and staff, and when off camera, was a completely different person. Although I do not wish him any ill will, I cannot say that I am saddened to see him go. I truly think there is a better person for the job and that WSMV has not found it yet. It seems to me that they are looking for co-anchors with the chemistry that Dan and Demetria had. Until they find that perfect fit, I don't think we viewers can expect someone to stick around very long.
And who are you to tell us what we can and can't say (or think)??? Holly is the least professional of all the "journalists" on the WSMV Morning Show, but you somehow think we shouldn't say anything bad about her just because you like her? Where is your defense of Josh Devine, Alan Frio, Paul Heggen and Jennifer Herron? I think all of them are much better at their jobs than Holly. At least they seem to try and be serious about doing their respective jobs. Holly just laughs and shows baby pictures...
Maybe she should be the next to follow Tim Ross and Bob Sellers into other job opportunities. Your comments are proof that many people think they can control what others think and say (in other words, they are TOO CRITICAL OF SMALL DETAILS).
Too bad about Aaron, he was very good; He and Holly complemented each other well. Guess the best reason to watch Channel 4 in the mornings is to see Jennifer Herron....
I really miss Aaron Solomon on the Channel 4 morning show. . . I have been a loyal watcher for over 28 years. I had to adjust when Ralph Emery left. . . then got used to the new format, then Sharon Puckett left, then Mr. Tim.
Channel 4 has had many changes through out the years and those that I became familiar with and looked forward to seeing. . . have left. I have never met any of the personalities in person (except Dan Miller RIP!) but I would hope that the rudeness experienced by some was a one time situation and not the rule. Nashville has become an "International City", but still known for it's attitudes established by us Native Nashvillians. We are true to "us", but welcome others. I personnally prefer the "sound" of Aaron's voice early in the morning, Josh Devine would not be my choice for early morning, but he is a plus for the News Staff, just not "early morning".
Oh yes, you can ALWAYS spot a non Native by the way they pronounce DEMONBREUN!
Best Wishes to Aaron and Family.
Management at Channel 4 maybe needs to have the job change. Aaron was respected and liked by the Tennessee communities. Wake up Corporate America, it is not always about the bottom line. Viewers want Aaron Back!
Add my voice to disgruntled FORMER WSMV morning news viewers. Aaron Solomon was a credit to a great news team which is now sadly diminished. I cannot stand "twinkletoes" Devine, he is a terrible choice to co-anchor with Holly. He would be great with Jonathan Martin, however, then at least there would be no question as to the station's agenda. Yet another big mistake by WSMV! So long, suckers!
Check out by bog. Featuring the latest dope on the worst management decision in the history of Nashville TV.

Aaron did a great job. The new guy does not have it and seems to be the token gay guy. Channel 4 lost this move.
Mr. Tim with his fab tie collection, Aaron & Holly with their magic was just the wake-me-up I needed in the A.M. Paul & Josh just don't have "it". Ch 4 has been my station of choice longer than I can remember, no more. guess I'll be moving to 5 to have w/my morning coffee. Good luck Aaron. LOL, see u in cannon county @ good ole days.
I have been a channel 4 viewer for many years. I've been holding out hopeing Aaron was on temporary leave. Good luck to Jennifer and Holly. Maybe they can gain employment by a channel that I now watch.
I'm really missing him and wish WSMV would ask him back, that's if he would come. I can't believe they let go of someone that has so much chemistry with Holly. I loved Cool Schools and Aaron's roll as morning anchor. He did a great job and WSMV has lost 4 generations of views. From my 99 year old grandfather to my son (17) who loves morning news, WSMV really missed up!!!!
I have watched WSMV every morning for years... it started my days well. All of a sudden no Aaron. No mention of where or what.... I kept watching and waiting and still no Aaron! I decided to research and and channel 4 news has now lost many viewers and my family of 4 will not be watching any more either. It was so sad to lose Dan when he died but it is maddening to see the the others are simply not here. It is too bad that WSMV is making all these changes- they are not doing themselves or the community an favors!! I have switched to channel 2 (WKRN). Julie and Neil and Justin are great! Julie is on maternity leave. Miss her. Haven't seen Justin in a bit...Hmmm. Hope is he is back soon. Hope to see Aaron on WKRN since WSMV can't seem to keep anyone.
Aaron, I am so sorry you were shanghaied the way you were. For my wife and me, this was the last straw. This new GM needs to be taken down...hard. No wonder Ch. 4 is continually tanking...all of the good talent is being let go. I am seriously considering a petition drive to get you back. Is there an email address or other means of communication where I can express my "displeasure," with her actions concerning you, Jennifer Herron, Tim Ross, and others who are surely going to feel the axe blade drop in the future? Bless you Aaron and best wishes. Please show up somewhere else in Nashville (2, 5 or 17)! As for us, we are now Channel 5 viewers.
I have been watching Channel 4 in the mornings for many, many years but I will have to say I too am fed up with all their changes, especially when they let Aaron Solomon go. Not to mention, the audio and video are never in unisom any more. Or even worse, they try to go to a video clip of some story and they either show the wrong video or they can't even get a video to work. With all the technology we have these days, you would think Channel 4 could do a better job. Wherever you are Aaron........we miss you so much!!!!!
Aaron was the logical person to step into Dan Miller's very big shoes. He is polished, intelligent and the person who has been in the wings so long that he should have been proven to be one who would have been at WSMV for the duration. I am sorry for the absurdly poor judgement of the persno who desiged Aaron was no longer needed at the station. No doubt the interest of the children whom he influenced by his "Cool Schools" visits, the example he set for so many people through his open adoration of his wife and children, and his unabashed pride in being a Middle Tennessean (there are so few of us who are truly from this area) made him the most excellent of all possible choices for the night time programming. WSMV has proven since the dayls of Huell Howser just to be nothing more than a revolving door. I am sorry. There isnt a single soul at WSMV who deserves to be in that type of situation. Aaron I wish for you and your family a much better situation than what you had.
WSMV should have done everything they could to keep Aaron. He and Holly were the best in the morning. Josh is nice enough as a fill in but he's too stiff.
I hope he shows up on another local station. I'd switch in a heart beat. Everytime Holly is off I'm afraid she's gone as well.
If the management is that hard to work for they need to replace them. Stop loosing good broadcasters.
I have watched channel 4 go down hill now for several years, they fired Sharon Puckett for being too old , Tim ross was let go and now Arron Solomon..What about Holly Thompson and her fake smile and Helmet hair? She seems so fake it would have been better to let her go, although there was something creepy about Aaron Solomon after seeing him at Green Hills Kroger and he was looking at a woman like she had two heads.
Whoever let Aaron Solomon walk out the doors of WSMV is a crazy , I pray he get's picked up local .It's your loss for sure He will be Blessed for being honest :O))))))))......and to let him walk out because you wanted him to lie to us and he would not tell his viewers a lie ! That is so wrong ......Don't know if you know it ,all of your viewers will find out sooner or later how he was done .I hope it shuts you down like you shut us down on the weekends your loss will be someones gain Thank You Mr. Solomon for being real to the people of Nashville and surrounding areas......... Be honest WSMV insead of deleting our post.. you may delete but it won't hide the fact that u suck at trying to lie....... Maria Canaday of Thompson's Station Tennessee
You must be a WSMV or Meridith employee. Of perhaps the new GM herself. If not, then a complete outsider to the business who knows nothing. Change is Constant, you are correct. But change for change sake is a mistake. Brand equity and viewer loyalty is directly tied to moderate change as the market demands, NOT new management making their power be known. Can you say "F" for Fail?
I really didn't like him that much but my wife did and she is terribly upset over this! I like Holly and if someone can't develop a "chemistry" with her, well they need not be on air. I like the weather guy, he seems very honest and straight forward in his reporting and I feel like I can trust him. Jennifer, the traffic woman...she tries hard, she really does. We won't switch because of Holly, she quits and we will have to move on.
What I'm saying is that maybe he's not the person everyone thinks he is on TV and may have been difficult to work with. Or maybe there were viewers who did not enjoy him in the morning? We don't know all the details.
I know there are many supporters on this site but I'm sure there are some who are not disappointed that he's gone.
Can someone let us know if Holly is on vacation or has been quietly let go like the others? Starting to get a bit worried..... The crew on the news in the AM is horrible, I only stick around for Holly. Everything else is so stale. Does anyone know where she is?????
Apparently you are the GM, or a reasonable facsimile. If Aaron was so bad he would not have been there this long!!!!!! I, too, was a life time viewer but I CAN'T watch anymore. I switched to channel 17 fox network for my morning news.If your are as knowledgeable as you seem to think you are----you should really spell check your reply before posting it. BTW--A LOT OF THE OLD CHANNEL 4 NEWS CAST MEMBERS ARE SHOWING UP ON CHANNEL 17.
If it makes you feel better to think I'm the GM, then so be it. There are many people who hold positions for a LONG TIME and are let go due to lack of performance. I'm not a television expert and never claimed to be "knowledgeable" on the topic of the world of television OR a great speller. I was just speaking my mind like everyone else on this topic is. I'm sorry that you don't agree with my point of view. Happy fox 17 watching. I watch them too! PS there may be things I know about certain people that you don't.
It is unfortunate that Aaron has been let go. He is an awesome reporter. I am sure that he will land on his feet. I agree that Josh Devine and Holly Thompson don't necessarily have the right chemistry. But, stop acting like children with regard to Mr. Devine. Making fun of the man's voice and hand gestures. Really grow up. Write the station. Use you grown up words and tell them that you are disappointed with the changes they have made. These guys that they have let go are class acts and I am sure they would not have acted in this childish manner.
I'm of a new generation, single, no children, professional, tv is a thing of the past, especially da news, while living here in Nashville I have watched ch 4 in the mornings compared to other chs, I think they have lost another viewer over arron, I recent found out he had received anchor of the year recently as 09, what happen, maybe like the economy, upper management lol, he will be missed,
