I am interested in buying a home in a suburb of Nashville. I am new to the area,- who usually pays the closing costs? Buyer or Seller? thank you

Closings costs are paid by both the seller and buyer.

In some cases the seller may pay some or all of the buyers closing costs but in reality the seller is being paid more for the property by the buyer to cover the buyers closing costs ie If the sales price of the home is $100,000 and the buyers closing costs are $3000 the buyer can then raise the sales price to $103,000 and ask the seller to pay his/her closings costs of $3000. The seller still nets $100,000 as now they are paying $3000 of the buyers closing costs.
