    Default singer/songwritter

My daughter is a talented singer/song writer who has almost finished her demo. She has been to nashville, and sang at the BlueBird. Any advice from someone who really knows what to do next would be appreciated

Not sure how great of advice this is for you, but she has to get known. Go to every open mic in town - she needs to get her name music out there. good luck.

    Default Beginning direction for writers/artists

    Hello,

I am Marc-Alan Barnette, a singer/songwriter/music consultant that teaches songwriting and practical application to the music industry in Nashville. I am trying to read some posts here and offer a few suggestions. Whether you are attemptinng to make a move to a music center like Nashville or just trying to learn the ropes in your own cities and towns, the rules are the same. Get around other writers and aritsts. Visit open mics, songwriter's events, talent shows. Look in local coffeehouses. Get around other like minded people. Believe me they are everywhere.
For songwriters, NSAI (Nashville Songwriter's Association International) is the best place to start. They have online services and chapter workshops all over the world.
For artists and other non-writers, parents, etc, try www.indieconnect.com to get online information. You have to start with a first step and getting around other people trying to do the same thing you are IS the first step.
    Write interesting and distinctive music.
Showcase it well live and in recorded form.
Network and meet as many people as possible.
Let the business take care of itself but learn as much as you can about it.

    Good luck.

You can upload her music to the internet. For enough popularity you can take the help of social networking sites like Facebook, YouTube etc. There are so many online websites who helps from promotions to production. hope it will help you.

There are so many singers today who are still going with promotions on social networking sites. You can also go with the online sites who are helping the artists, with music promotions. Even they will help your daughter from the production of her music to the promotions of the music.

    Default career

I've been in town writing for nearly 20 years. Most new artists are discovered through demo work for songwriters. She'll also need some financial backing for high-quality photo shoots, showcases, etc. - but FIRST she needs to get her name out there by singing demos. If she's good, word gets around pretty fast.

On the writing end, have her join NSAI. There are a lot of amateurs there, so if her writing rises above that level she will surely get noticed.
