Default tourist destination and expected cost?

What's the best tourist destination in Nashville and the estimated cost for a 5 days stay?

Don't want to spend so much in hotels because I want to spend much of my dollar in exploring tourist spots.

    Any idea?

Well, you definitely need to experience downtown Nashville - heart of Music City! See a show at the Ryman, visit Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, take line dancing at Wildhorse Saloon, check out all the honky tonk bars along Broadway, Nashville Symphony, Frist Center of the Visual Arts, Tennessee State Museum. Head over to Opryland (about 10 - 15 minute drive), see a show, stroll around Opryland - if shopping is in the plan - go next door to the Opry Mills Mall. Other ideas include a visit to Belle Meade Plantation, Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and take a Nash-Trash Tour. I'm sure I"m missing something, but this should get you started! The most reasonably priced hotel in downtown Nashville is likely going to be the Holiday Inn Express on Broadway.
