East Nashville

East Nashville is a very trendy place to live right now. Very gay-friendly and liberal. There are great bars and restaurants. BUT, every street is different. On some streets, all of the houses have been redone and are very nice and very expensive. On others they are cheaper, but not renovated. The area is surrounded by 'questionable' neighborhoods / streets and there is crime. However,the houses are all old and have character. You have to see for yourself and get a feel - also ask around while you're there. Only you can make that final decision. Good luck!

East Nashville

I'm moving to Nashville soon. I'll be looking for places to rent this weekend (I would like to be close to downtown). I keep hearing that East Nashville is up and coming, but I'm concerned about safety. The rent there is much cheaper than the other areas I'm looking (Vandy, West End, Downtown) but I need to know as a single young woman I'll be safe. Which areas of East Nashville are already re-vived and which areas should I avoid?
