We are visiting Nashville in April. I have 2 teenagers and an infant and looking for a good place to stay. I have a couple of small request. I would like to stay at a hotel that does not alow pets or smoking. Do they still allow smoking in resturants? We do not want to stay in a very touristy area. We are from Florida and see enough tourist. We have been to Tenn. before and would like some good recomendations on things to do and places to go for the whole family. I know it sounds picky but this rides on if we go here or somewhere else and how lond we stay.

It really depends on what you want to do while in Nashville - lots of the attractions and things to do are in the downtown area - except Opryland which is about a 10 -15 minute drive away and in both places you'll find tourists - BUT in my opinion, I don't think either place is tacky touristy! Perhaps staying over by Vanderbilt University might be an idea for you.....I'm pretty sure most of your mainstream and higher end hotels are smoke-free. As for pets, I don't know about that one.

Try the Hilton Garden Inn Nashville/Vanderbilt. It is a brand new hotel located near Vanderbilt University. Friendly staff and they also have a resturant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Thanks for the heads up on this new Hilton by Vanderbilt. I wasn't aware of it and will check it out.

It sounds like the perfect plan to me. You got me convinced to give it a try on my spring break. Thanks!
