hi-- we are new to fishing in middle tn- where would be a good place to fish (by the bank) in the next week over two (during spring break) that's within an hour or so from Nashville?
Thanks

The best place I know is the Caney Fork River. Great trout fishing. My son and I caught 11 last week. 10 rainbows and one brown. Go west on 40 and get off at the Center Hill Dam exit. Park below the dam and there are trails that walk down the river. Use light tackle with half of a night crawler.

Caney Fork River has great fishing - it's about an hour east of Nashville. J. Percy Priest Lake (in Nashville), Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville (not too far from Nashville and just OK or average fishing) - call their resource office at: (615) 822-4846 or (615) 847-2395. Also look into Cheatham Lake which is about a 1/2 an hour away from Nashville in Ashland City. Fishing info hotline for them is: (615) 792-2190. Do you camp?

Your best bet is to stay in Nashville and take day trips fishing.
