As a transplant to the Nashville area from Chicago ( Castalian Springs) I've missed some of the Chicago cuisine I know and love. My wife and I recently discovered a real Chicago style Italian fast food restaurant in Gallatin called Campione's Taste of Chicago.
I had to try the Italian Beef sandwich. I've sampled a couple of area places and always been disappointed. Campione's Beef was PERFECT! The rest of the menu was like a trip back to the Windy: Italian Sausage and Meatball sanwiches, chili dogs, real Chicago dogs and home made pasta specials. The owners claim to be Chicagoans and with a no ketchup poster on the wall it just may be true.
I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. Nashville, you gotta try it.
