We are planning our first trip to Nashville. We are planning on going to the Grand Ole Opry. What other things should we do while in Nashiville? My boyfreind is a country music artist and would like to get some exposure while in Nashville. Also, where is the best place to stay that is cheap enough that we can enjoy other things beside our room.
I see you're off to a good start by planning on going to the Grand Ole Opry! Here are some other places not to miss:
Country Music Hall of Fame (http://www.nashville.com/attractions/countrymusichalloffame/index.html)
Belle Meade Plantation (http://www.nashville.com/attractions/bellemeade/index.html)
Frist Center for the Visual Arts
Tennessee State Museum (http://www.nashville.com/attractions/tennesseestatemuseum/index.html)
The Parthenon (http://www.nashville.com/attractions.html)
Walking around downtown Nashville at night (Broad Street) and dropping in on many of the honky tonk bars - including Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Wildhorse Saloon, Robert's Western World.
Does your boyfriend write his own music? If so, to get some exposure, he should go to song writers or open mic venues. A couple of places to suggest: The Blue Bird Cafe - 615.383.1461 and/or The Douglas Corner Cafe - 615.298.1688.
Have fun!
By the way - what is your price range per night for a hotel?
