From wisconsin, me, my husband, and three boys...my husband anxious to move south...chose Nashville. I don't know much about nashville but want to know about best parts to look for housing, shopping, schools and cost of living??? Also feedback on racism problems, if any, in nashville would be nice to know as well!!! Here in Wisconsin lots of segregation and discrimination is common!!

A lot would depend on your budget (as it would anywhere). There are many nice areas on the west side of town (Green Hills, Hillsboro Village, West Meade, Bellevue, and others). There are other parts of town that are also nice, but in some parts of town you have to use a little more care, although you can often find the same or similar house for less in other parts of town. There are also smaller towns nearby that might be worth looking at, such as Mt. Juliet, Kingston Springs, Franklin, Hendersonville, and others.

from the research I've done, it seems that Franklin and Brentwood are great places....close to downtown Nashville, upscale living, great schools....what more could you want....
