hi - we are coming over from scotland next year to the cma 2009 and have been looking into hotels in the music valley area ( guesthouse inn) can anyone tell me how easy it will be to get to downtown and back? especially later at night once the concerts finish
thanks
The Guesthouse Inn is about a mile or up to 2 - depending on where you're going in downtown Nashville. They normally do not offer shuttle service, and I'm not sure if they will during CMA. However, plan on lots of walking - everyone does! Otherwise, there will be plenty of taxis, so you don't need to worry about getting around. You're very smart to book so far in advance!

I always stay at the Fairfield Inn Opryland for the CMA festival. The price is always lower than down town and there is always transportation to downtown. Free breakfast and a indoor pool.

I'm thinking of coming over from the UK for the festival this summer. However, i can't find the line-up of bands? do any of you know who will be playing?

I don't think the line-up will be announced until April 2009......

I would like to know if it is best to buy a package deal or get a hotel and buy your tickets later.

Last year I purchased the hotel and tickets separate. This year I am buying a package. If you stay away from downtown it is cheaper to do it seperate. If you are staying downtown, Vanderbilt University or the airport area I think booking seperatley and buying a package are very comparable.
I want to be closer to downtown this year so I did the package thing. Last year I stayed about 15 miles away in Hermatige and had to drive in every day and pay $20 to park.
This year I will use the hotel shuttles and cabs to go back and forth.
