I've been looking over the hotel options for downtown, we are wanting to go bar hopping and listen to live music. Which hotel would you recommend that would be nice/clean, moderately price, and a short walk to the honkey tonks?
I'd say the most 'moderately priced' hotel downtown Nashville which is within walking distance to all the honky tonk bars and live music is the Holiday Inn Express - it's located right on Broadway.

Hi,
I (from germany) and 2 other friends from KY will meet in Nashville in March next year. We're looking for hotels smoking permitted and close to the action. Seems that Holiday Express downtown is the best option, but I'm wondering if we could save money if we decide for a hotel which is not close to "the action" and take a taxi each evening to get to the clubs ?
I'm thinking about 1501 Demonbreun St., near to I-40 exit ? Guess thats about 2-3 miles distance from Printers Alley ?
Thanks in advance for advice :)

don't think it will be a big deal. if it saves you money and you're still not too far from action - go for it. what hotel are you looking at?

I was looking for the "Holiday Inn Express Downtown" hotel, which is on the broadway and relatively close to the "action" :) A few days ago, I booked a room there, hope it was a good decision :)
