We are visiting Nashville in March 2007, 4 girls (aged 40 plus) from the United Kingdom, wondering what the weather is like? What type of clothing should we pack? What do people wear in the bars and clubs? Do people wear their stetsons or is that a stereotypical view?

We would like to go on the lunch cruise on the General Jackson Showboat, should we purchase tickets in advance, oh and i have purchased tickets for the Opry (will call) and wondered if anyone knew if it is possible to pick up the tickets a couple of days before the performance or if it has to be on the night of the performance.?

Would appreciate any advice

Thanks

Your upcoming trip to Nashville sounds like a lot of fun! To give you an idea of what the weather is like in March, the average high is 60ºF or 16ºC and the average low is 39ºF or 4ºC. You definitely should check the weather a week or so before your trip which will give you the best indication of what to expect.

What to wear in Nashville? Nashville is pretty laid back, so you can keep it casual. Wearing jeans to Opryland is even acceptable.

General Jackson tickets can be purchased by calling 615-458-3900, but since you're in the UK, it may be easier to purchase online at www.GaylordHotels.com. As for the Opry tickets you have already purchased, if you're staying at Opryland, you can pick them up anytime from a hotel concierge desk or the Opry and Ryman box offices. If you're not staying at Opryland, it's probably easiest for you to pick up your tickets the evening of the show. You'll just have to show them your I.D. as well as your confirmation number from when you purchased your tickets.
